As the Staff Accountant at American Infrastructure Maintenance Management, you will be a vital member of our finance team, responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of our operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) or the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), you will play a crucial role in maintaining the financial health and integrity of the organization.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Provide insightful analysis of financial results to senior management and stakeholders.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Collaborate with department heads to develop annual operating budgets and long-term financial forecasts. Monitor budget performance and variances, and provide recommendations for cost control and revenue enhancement.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to support strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for operational improvement. Analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and financial metrics to assess business performance and trends.

  • Internal Controls: Establish and maintain effective internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data. Develop and implement policies and procedures to mitigate financial risks and safeguard company assets.

  • Cash Flow Management: Manage cash flow and liquidity by forecasting cash needs, monitoring cash balances, and optimizing cash resources. Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable functions to ensure timely collection and payment of invoices.

  • Audit and Tax Compliance: Coordinate external audits and tax filings, ensuring compliance with audit requirements and regulatory standards. Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and legal advisors to address any audit findings or tax issues.

  • Financial Systems and Processes: Evaluate and optimize financial systems and processes to enhance efficiency and accuracy. Identify opportunities for automation and implement technology solutions to improve financial reporting and analysis.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor the finance team, providing guidance, coaching, and professional development opportunities. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement within the finance department.

  • AP/AR: Oversee all day to day accounting tasks, including Accounts Payable and vendor management functions, as well as Accounts Receivable and invoicing functions.

  • Field Operations: Working hand in hand with all Team Members, Departments, as well as State Level and Corporate Leadership on project costing tasks aimed at accounting for all related expenditures and revenues associated with AIMM’s business service lines. This includes and is not limited to Accounts Payable and Vendor Management functions, as well as Accounts Receivable and invoicing functions which crossover from Department to Department, across State Lines, and not limited to Corporate Level.

  • Project Costing & Project Completion Accounting: This position will serve as primary responsible party for ensuring that all project cost accounting and percent completion methodology is accomplished according to GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree highly preferred. 

  • Current certificates of study or continuing education in Human Resources, including HR Generalist or Management; Diversity and Inclusion; People Analytics; Risk Management and Change Management. 

  • Proven experience (10+ years) in senior HR leadership roles, with a focus on change management, executive coaching, and HR operations management.

  • Extensive experience (10 years) in HR leadership roles within a blue-collar industry.

  • Experience working within a multicultural, multilingual organization.

  • In-depth knowledge of best practices in HR, employment law and regulations related to OSHA, Department of Labor, and State labor laws per division.

  • Experience in performance management and talent acquisition. 

  • Strong experience in handling payroll, benefits administration, and HR team leadership.

  • Demonstrated success in driving organizational change and achieving buy-in from all levels of the organization.

  • Proficiency in HR systems and technology to optimize HR processes and data analysis. 

  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in complex HR and organizational matters. 

  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Must be bi-lingual with exceptional English and Spanish speaking and writing skills. 

Work Environment
  • This position is In-Office

  • Some tasks to be performed at events.

  • Some tasks can be performed at home.

Physical Demands
  • May be required to perform physical duties such as lifting, bending, kneeling, walking etc.

  • Must be able to work within a variety of work environments - indoor, outdoor and in a variety of weather conditions.

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Prolonged periods standing at events.

  • Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds at times.

Required Education & Experience
  • High School diploma or GED/Other

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; CPA preferred.

 

Preferred Education & Experience.

  • Proven experience in a financial leadership role, preferably in the infrastructure or construction industry.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks).

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with a track record of building high-performing teams and driving results.

Hiring Requirements

AIMM is a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace. Candidates will be required to get tested and complete the following requirements:

  • Must complete and maintain the minimum necessary training classes as required.
