Position: Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO)
(Corporate Headquarters): Houston, TX
American Infrastructure Maintenance Management LLC (AIMM) is seeking a highly qualified human resources leader to serve as Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO) and lead this rapidly growing organization’s human resources strategy. Headquartered in Houston, AIMM is an equal opportunity employer, privately held, faith-based business with asset management and road maintenance contracts across multiple states. The AIMM leadership team is seeking to add a highly qualified individual, bilingual in Spanish and English, who understands their core values and how they influence the company culture.
The CHRO is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, risk and change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation and benefits.
This position is directly responsible for leading HR Managers and other HR representatives, in multiple divisions and indirectly responsible for all HR functions within each division. Currently, this CHRO will be a hands-on extension of the HR Executive Vice President level function in the field as the company expands its coverage area. In essence, the CHRO should expect many tactical HR tasks that will eventually be assumed by an HR Executive Vice President, as the company continues to grow.
Duties and Responsibilities.

Establish relationships with other team members to thoroughly understand complexity of the asset management business. Serve as a team resource for other AIMM leaders in solving human capital issues and planning for growth.

Establish and implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the company’s mission and strategic vision.

Identify best methods to maintain open lines of communications with front-line workers and create an effective circle of communication between the field and corporate headquarters.

Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit regarding key organizational and management issues.

Serve on the Advisory Board and represent the organization’s human capital investments. Create and deliver briefings to executives on budget, retention, and hiring on a regular basis.

Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of AIMM’s expanding growth model.

Oversee AIMM’s comprehensive compensation and benefit plans to align with company goals and objectives as well as division budgets.

Develop and deploy performance management systems to drive the organization, evaluate individual employee performance, shape training and educational needs, and nurture the culture of inclusion: a positive environment that supports, values, and welcomes diversity among all workers.

Facilitate and monitor the implementation of standardized human resource processes, including systems in data management, performance evaluations, payroll, and benefits management.

Support senior leaders and field staff in navigating complex people-related challenges.

Lead the company’s strategic response to inquiries by state & federal employment agencies, labor unions and employment attorneys when necessary, throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.

Oversee the safety directors in implementing safety policies for front line and management employees to reduce risk for employees and the company.

Build a cohesive team of HR field managers by supporting them with guidance, training, onsite assistance, accountability, and HR leadership.

Be responsible for team performance and team culture: lead the inclusion and nurturing culture that is AIMM through the HR team to field staff.

Collaborate with senior leadership, providing personalized coaching and guidance to the executive team to enhance leadership effectiveness, decision-making and strategic thinking. Foster a culture of continuous learning and development among executives.

Take responsibility for the company worker’s compensation insurance contracts, ensuring compliance with all OSHA and state DOT regulations, as well as any other regulations needed.

Process and evaluate workers’ compensation claims.

Investigate work-related injury claims within the given timeframe after receipt of the first report of injury.

Review accurate submission of claim documents and manage all aspects of each work-related injury claims, including informal hearings, and small claims litigation while maintaining a high level of productivity and confidentiality.

Work closely with Managers and Supervisors to identify accident causes, fill out the requested paperwork, and brainstorm solutions that would prevent future accidents.

Creating company policies and procedures, while making sure AIMM stays in compliance with the most recent version, in English and Spanish.

Sending Human Resources Department updates and communications to company employees, in English and Spanish to ensure an effective communication among all of our company employees.
Education and Experience Requirements.

Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required. Master’s degree highly preferred.

Current certificates of study or continuing education in Human Resources, including HR Generalist or Management; Diversity and Inclusion; People Analytics; Risk Management and Change Management.

Proven experience (10+ years) in senior HR leadership roles, with a focus on change management, executive coaching, and HR operations management.

Extensive experience (10 years) in HR leadership roles within a blue-collar industry.

Experience working within a multicultural, multilingual organization.

In-depth knowledge of best practices in HR, employment law and regulations related to OSHA, Department of Labor, and State labor laws per division.

Experience in performance management and talent acquisition.

Strong experience in handling payroll, benefits administration, and HR team leadership.

Demonstrated success in driving organizational change and achieving buy-in from all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in HR systems and technology to optimize HR processes and data analysis.

Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in complex HR and organizational matters.

SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP strongly preferred.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Must be bi-lingual with exceptional English and Spanish speaking and writing skills.
Other Requirements.

Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
-
Travel for extended periods of time, as needed, throughout the contiguous Unites States and Puerto Rico.

CHRO will join the AIMM Corporate Headquarters in Houston, Texas. This is not a remote working position.
